Larry lived in Hoboken, New Jersey, before moving to Rome in 2007 to be with his partner Vincenzo Gulina. In the early 1970s he studied at Loyola University of Chicago’s Rome Center, now the John Felice Rome Center on Monte Mario. “That was when I fell in love with the city of Rome,” Larry writes, “and then had the dream of making Rome my home.
Larry has recently retired from his post as a teacher librarian at Ambrit International School and has remained active at St. Paul’s, whether organizing Excursions to significant sites of Christian formation and art history within the city of Rome or the virtual Social Book Clubs that have participants around the world. In addition to serving on St. Paul’s vestry, Larry is a member of the Committee on Mission Congregations of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe. He is also an alternative delegate from the Convocation to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church.
Larry regularly volunteers at the Non-Catholic Cemetery. He has two adult children and two grandchildren living in New York City.
