I am the Vine
Our job, our call, is to be a part of the vine. Interconnected. Hospitality.
Our job, our call, is to be a part of the vine. Interconnected. Hospitality.
…It is a far greater thing to be part of God’s wider, noble plan than the prisoner of our own small and fragile designs.Continue Reading
This work, this ministry, this hope, this beloved community, all of it, all of it, now falls to us.
A prophet like you is exactly what God wants and exactly who God needs for this time and this place.
Each moment of the day bears markings of the divine, even if my sense of chronos concerns might threaten to eclipse my experience of them.
Embracing the truth of being known and loved, leads us to embrace our deepest call in Christ—which is nothing less than the reconciliation of the world in God’s name.
Once we navigate through the shallow waters of discomfort with one another’s differences, we can begin accessing the treasures that can only be found in the deep waters.
Being and living in this world as sons and daughters of God means putting on a new person, becoming the image of the living God, that is, of Christ.
The more room we make for the Christ in our hearts and souls, the more room we begin to make for others both within the church and beyond it.
Let us open our hearts and lives to the way that the Christ showed us—and incarnate the good news in our own lives.
How might we learn from the nobody now lauded as queen to make a home for heaven within our own lives?
As wide and as accommodating as God’s path is for as many adherents as will walk it, in practice, the way seems narrow and illusive because of how challenging it is—like threading a needle in the dark.
If we heed the call to turn, to confess, to arise, to gather, to serve, and to love, then we will not only be preparing to receive the child once more on Christmas, we will also be making room for his eternal life to be born in us and flow freely through us.
The end all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time.
